Frequent Questions about freenet email.

Q- Can I send and receive email from my other email account while I am connected to freenet?

A - Yes you should be able to send and receive your email from all the other providers in NZ while you are connected to freenet. This means you can stay connected to freenet and still clear all your email accounts through freenet. You don't need to disconnect to read your other email accounts!

Note: Currently ClearNet does not allow the clearing of email off the ClearNet email server when you are connected to another ISP. This is a policy of ClearNet and ClearNet customers should contact the ClearNet helpdesk for more information if required. ClearNet customers could use web based email offered by ClearNet as a work around th this.

Q - How do I test my freenet email is working correctly?

A - freenet has setup a special email account that will allow you to test your email account is functioning correctly. Simply send an email message to testmail@free.net.nz An automatic response will be sent to the address you sent the email from. This tests your email programs ability to send and receive email.

Q - How do I make my freenet email account the default account in Outlook Express 5?

A - Start your Outlook Express 5 Email Program.

- Click on the Tools menu then select the Accounts option.

- Click on the freenet account and click the Set as Default button on the right hand side of the window.
